SimplyWell, a medically based population health management provider, needed a faster, more cost-effective way to integrate and manage data from a rapidly expanding ecosystem of digital health devices and apps. After a time-consuming initial Fitbit integration, SimplyWell selected Validic’s one-to-many digital-health connectivity platform to simplify device and app integrations and bring standardized patient-generated health data into its workflows.

Using Validic’s platform, SimplyWell rapidly added integrations with hundreds of devices and 20+ popular wellness apps (allowing sync of 100+ devices), boosting wearable device engagement from 200 users to more than 5,100 in six months. Approximately 20% of engaged members sync multiple apps/devices, SimplyWell can now ingest glucose meters and blood pressure cuffs for better tracking, and the company estimates nearly $1.5M saved in application interface build-out costs — enabling improved employer claims reporting and targeted outreach.
