ABN AMRO completes data migration in 7 months with Validata Software

ABN AMRO, a Tier-1 bank headquartered in Europe, faced a significant challenge in consolidating and migrating customer and account data from its branches in Hong Kong, Japan, and the UAE into a new core banking system. The aggressive timeframe, complex data structures, and need to maintain data integrity during the transfer posed a major risk to its operations. To manage this process, the bank selected Validata Software and its V-Conn product for the extract, transform, and load (ETL) process.

Validata Software implemented its V-Conn solution to extract data from legacy flat files, transform and consolidate it within a staging area, and then load it into the Temenos T24 system. The platform also provided crucial data reconciliation capabilities. This allowed the entire migration and reconciliation of transactional data to be completed within a single weekend. As a result, Validata helped ABN AMRO successfully complete the migration in just seven months, ensuring the bank was fully operational by the following Monday morning with higher data quality, full auditability, and a standardized process.
