A Valdata Systems Case Study

Preview of the Actavis Case Study

Actavis - Customer Case Study

Actavis, a large multinational pharmaceutical company, faced significant challenges with its manual inventory and manufacturing control system at its Elizabeth, New Jersey plant. The paper-based process was error-prone, caused discrepancies in its ERP data, and was inefficient. Actavis sought a validated electronic system to provide end-to-end tracking and a justifiable ROI. They selected Valdata Systems to implement a solution.

Valdata Systems implemented its Chemical Management System (CMS), a paperless inventory and manufacturing control system. The solution integrated with Actavis's existing MFG Pro ERP, using barcode scanning and wireless devices to automate tracking from raw material receipt through to the pre-weigh process. The system enforced procedures, eliminated manual errors, and created a validated audit trail. Valdata's solution allowed Actavis to dramatically increase production output with the same number of personnel, improve inventory accuracy, and achieve compliance with FDA CFR 21 Part 11 requirements.
