Schütz Group harmonizes 28 controlling areas with Valantic for SAP S/4HANA migration

The Schütz Group, a global manufacturer of transport packaging, faced the challenge of preparing its complex SAP ERP system for a future migration to SAP S/4HANA. The company needed to harmonize its international finance and controlling (FI/CO) systems to reduce complexity, an ambitious project with a tight deadline. To achieve this, Schütz partnered with vendor valantic and its co-operation partner SNP for their SAP and technical expertise.

Valantic acted as the general contractor, managing the project and implementing a harmonization of the FI/CO systems using a linear waterfall approach. This included introducing the new general ledger, merging 28 controlling areas into one, and adapting interfaces. The solution, which leveraged SNP's BLUEFIELD approach for data migration, was completed in under a year. The results provided a strong foundation for the S/4HANA migration, streamlined financial reporting, eliminated reconciliation efforts, and reduced the IT customizing workload, positioning Schütz for further global growth.
