Liebherr, a global family-owned manufacturer of construction machinery and other industrial products, sought to revolutionize its customer service by replacing its existing online portal. Their challenge was to integrate a scalable e-commerce solution for original spare parts that offered transparent order tracking, real-time pricing, and seamless integration with their ERP system, all tailored for their B2B customers and service partners. They partnered with vendor valantic to implement this solution using Magento 2.
Together with valantic, Liebherr developed a new B2B e-commerce platform that provided global access to over 3.4 million spare parts. The solution featured a multi-level role concept, asset management for precise part allocation, and deep integration into Liebherr's IT landscape. As a result, the platform significantly improved customer service, won the Magento Imagine Excellence Award for best B2B innovation in 2017, and reduced the risk of incorrect orders through features like multiple asset-assigned shopping carts.
