A Valantic Case Study
Lehmann&Voss, a chemical company founded in 1894, faced a challenge with its manual and fragmented sales and capacity planning. The company's business units used separate processes, relying heavily on time-consuming Excel spreadsheets and lacking real-time data integration. Their goal was to create a common, digital planning process to increase agility and transparency while reducing manual effort and costs. They partnered with valantic, which implemented the integrated planning solution APOLLO, powered by IBM Planning Analytics (TM1).
The solution from valantic, APOLLO, provided a unified platform that automated planning workflows and integrated data from SAP ERP. This enabled real-time simulations and collaborative planning across sales, production, and purchasing. As a result, Lehmann&Voss drastically reduced manual work and costs, gained the ability to adjust plans agilely, and improved transparency. The sales planning module went live in March 2022, followed by capacity planning in January 2023, successfully eliminating data silos and equipping all stakeholders with intuitive dashboards.
