Coop launches 13,000-item online store with Valantic

The customer, Coop City (part of the Swiss retail group Coop), is the second-largest department store chain in Switzerland. Their challenge was to expand beyond their 30 physical stores by launching an online sales channel to offer customers a more flexible shopping experience and increase revenue. They partnered with the vendor valantic to develop this new online store.

The solution implemented by valantic was an online store built using SAP Commerce Cloud, based on the existing Coop Shop platforms and integrated with systems like SAP ERP. Developed remotely using Scrum, the store launched with approximately 13,000 articles and features like in-store pickup and a product comparison tool. The result was a new 24/7 sales channel that increased online visibility and customer proximity for Coop City, laying the foundation for future omnichannel solutions like Click & Collect.
