Case Study: HJK Helsinki achieves flexible, on-demand virtual coach training with Valamis

Finland’s Leading Football Club is Training Virtually

HJK Helsinki, Finland’s leading football club with 3,500 athletes and nearly 350 coaches, needed to digitalise and centralise its coach training so materials were accessible to all and coach records weren’t scattered across spreadsheets. When the COVID-19 pandemic halted in-person sessions, HJK selected Valamis and its Learning Experience Platform (LXP) to deliver an easy-to-use, branded digital learning environment that would support asynchronous learning, a organised video library, and a single registry of coaches.

Valamis implemented the LXP (launched March 2021), trained HJK’s heads of coaching to create and maintain content with the platform’s Lesson Studio, and migrated the club’s training materials and recordings into a searchable video library. The result: coaches can now access many more training options on their own schedule instead of relying on annual live events, content is easy to edit and keep current, and HJK has a centralised coach registry and analytics to track progress — enabling broader, ongoing coach development with Valamis.
