BSPP, the Paris firemen’s brigade responsible for critical emergency communications and the management of 8,842 email boxes, was facing increasingly frequent and targeted email attacks while its anti‑spam equipment reached end of life. To protect sensitive channels (including the platforms receiving “18” and “112” calls) and reduce on‑premise operations, BSPP selected the Vade Secure Cloud heuristic filtering solution.

Vade Secure deployed its cloud platform upstream of BSPP’s servers in one week, providing heuristic, rules‑based filtering plus spoofing detection, “Time of Click” URL checks, and one‑click unsubscribe/quarantine features with no on‑site maintenance. Since implementation Vade Secure has helped BSPP avoid ransomware for two years; in one year the filter categorized mail as 48% legitimate, 30% spam, 20% viruses and 2% white/blacklist, allowing 63% of messages, automatically blocking 14% and retaining 22% for further analysis—yielding improved email performance, user productivity and preserved institutional integrity.
