BT Choses Vade Secure Predictive Email Defense Solution To Protect Its Customers From The Growing Avalanche Of Phishing Attacks And Spam

BT, the global telecoms leader that provides free email accounts to millions of customers, was overwhelmed by an avalanche of spam, graymail and increasingly sophisticated phishing attacks that its legacy filter could not reliably block, driving high volumes of complaints. To tackle this, BT selected Vade Secure’s Email Protection solution.

Vade Secure deployed its AI- and heuristic-driven Email Protection (trialed in read-only mode and rolled out in November 2017), which inspects headers, content, HTML and attachments and leverages global threat intelligence. The result was a dramatic improvement in inbox security and usability for BT customers: a 5.5-fold reduction in false negatives and roughly a 28-fold reduction in false positives, no significant rise in postmaster rejections, better malware detection than BT’s standalone AV, and new email-categorization insights to inform future service strategy.
