Milkomeda builds the first cross-chain EVM rollup with Vacuumlabs

Vacuumlabs partnered with Milkomeda, a project focused on delivering rollup technologies to enhance interoperability and scalability across different Layer 1 blockchains. Their challenge was to enable applications to work seamlessly across multiple, technologically distinct blockchains, such as running an Ethereum app on Cardano.

To solve this, Vacuumlabs developed core functions for rollup technologies and participated in smart contract development and security improvements. The team built the first cross-chain EVM rollup, merging Solidity development with Algorand's speed, and created the core smart contracts for the Milkomeda bridge to enable asset transfers. This collaboration resulted in significant advancements in blockchain interoperability and user experience.
