Security Reseller Helps City Solve Illegal Dumping

Security Alert Systems, a California monitoring reseller founded by Jess Rodriguez, was asked by a Silicon Valley city to solve chronic illegal dumping that created sanitation, cost and quality-of-life problems. Traditional pole-mounted cameras with 24–48 hour battery life only recorded aftermath and couldn’t produce evidence, so Security Alert Systems partnered with V5 Systems and deployed V5 Systems’ OnSight Portable License Plate Readers to provide continuous, evidentiary surveillance.

V5 Systems’ self-powered OnSight platform—solar/battery units under 25 pounds with 24/7 video, license-plate capture, real-time alerts and rapid redeployability—allowed the city to identify dumpers, match plates to DMV records, levy fines and recover cleanup costs.
