How V2 Cloud Helped Gateway Technical College Deliver an Improved Higher Education Experience

Gateway Technical College, a public technical college in southeastern Wisconsin, needed to replace an underperforming VMware VDI environment that was costly, labor-intensive to maintain, and unable to reliably support growing student demand, hybrid instruction, and a reduced IT staff. V2 Cloud’s Desktop as a Service offering was chosen after evaluations against six providers for ease of use, single sign-on, remote admin access, simplified operations, support, and price.

V2 Cloud implemented a centralized DaaS solution for students, instructors, and staff, supporting IT, manufacturing and engineering programs, and administrative users with browser-based virtual desktops. The result was simpler management, better performance and stability, lower infrastructure and VMware costs, more predictable budgeting, and the ability to scale without additional staff; student support tickets dropped by 10x, and users reported significantly improved responsiveness.
