Nichols, the UK soft‑drinks group behind brands such as Vimto, faced fragmented finance operations across multiple acquired businesses and needed to centralize and automate document handling to cut administrative costs, speed integrations and improve supply‑chain reconciliation. To solve this, Nichols deployed an integrated electronic document management suite from V1 Limited — including V1 Archive, V1 Capture, V1 Mail, V1 Authorise and V1 Form — tightly integrated with its Sage finance system.
V1 Limited’s solution centralized purchase and sales ledgers, automated invoice and proof‑of‑delivery processing, and supported rapid onboarding of acquisitions without adding headcount. The implementation delivered roughly £100,000 in annual savings, reduced purchase‑ledger staffing from six to one (sales ledger from six to 2.5), halved acquisition integration time to 2–3 months, and eliminated 3.8 million sheets of paper over six years (equivalent to 454 trees and 973.35 tonnes of CO2).
