UK Soft Drinks Business Saves 454 Trees and 973 Tonnes of Carbon with V1's Document Management Solutions

Nichols, the UK soft drinks business behind brands such as Vimto, needed a way to quantify the environmental benefits of its move to paperless processes as part of its sustainability strategy. Having used V1 Limited’s document management and imaging solutions since 2004, Nichols implemented V1’s document management green meter to measure the carbon, paper and tree savings from electronic creation, delivery, authorisation and archiving.

V1 Limited linked the green meter to Nichols’ document workflows to calculate CO2, paper and tree savings from electronic distribution, automated storage and electronic authorisation; Nichols reports saving 3,786,332 sheets of paper, 454 trees and 973.35 tonnes of carbon, plus over £100,000 a year in efficiency gains. V1 Limited’s solution also provides real-time, intranet-visible metrics so staff can see the direct environmental impact of their document-handling choices.
