Northgate Information Solutions, a global provider of HR, payroll and IT services, faced a fractured set of resourcing, time-entry and reporting tools (including seven legacy systems, Lotus Notes time capture and multiple reporting tools) that made project-centric views and resource booking slow and error-prone — it could take up to three days to find the right resource. After a three-year search, Northgate selected V1 Limited’s V1 Professional Services Automation (V1 PSA) to deliver a single integrated PSA platform that met requirements for resourcing, skills management, forecasting, time entry and Outlook integration.
V1 Limited implemented V1 PSA through workshops, data migration from eight legacy systems and an aggressive rollout (consultancy began Dec 2006 and go‑live was April 2007), training administrators, resource managers, project managers and 200 timesheet users. The solution delivered a single repository for budgets, timesheets, forecasts and scheduling, faster resource identification and booking, seamless Microsoft-platform integration, and Vision Reporting that let business users run queries (saving weeks on report production). The project went live on time and within budget, with Northgate citing strong ongoing support from V1 Limited.
