A UXPin Case Study

How Netsmart builds healthcare technology using UXPin

Netsmart is a US healthcare IT company serving behavioral health, family services and post‑acute care with more than 2,000 associates. A three‑person UX team in Kansas City struggled to scale design work as the company grew: they relied on flat mockups and text descriptions or cumbersome Axure prototypes, which led to duplicated effort, inconsistent designs, difficulty explaining interactions to non‑technical stakeholders and poor usability testing outcomes.

To fix this they adopted UXPin in 2016 for a scalable, interactive and collaborative workflow. Using browser‑based, high‑fidelity prototypes with variables, conditional logic, accessibility features and a shared design system, the team eliminated rework, improved stakeholder buy‑in and usability testing, sped handoffs to developers, and achieved more consistent, realistic product designs that save time and cost.
