PlaceMakers, a New Zealand construction materials supplier with more than 60 stores, launched its app in 2020 and quickly faced supply chain shortages and fast-changing stock levels. Using UXCam’s app analytics tools, including Session Replay, Heatmaps, and Event Analytics, the team needed to understand why users were dropping off and sales were falling after they introduced constrained product messaging.
UXCam helped PlaceMakers see that the red, bold “Constrained Products” messaging was too strong and discouraged purchases, even for items that would soon be back in stock. After redesigning the messaging to be more positive and clearer about delayed delivery, PlaceMakers saw sales recover and then double. UXCam also helped the team identify and fix the issue in just three days, avoiding weeks or months of manual research.
