Jaguar Land Rover detects 10% more defects at U.S. ports with UVeye

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) sought to enhance the quality control process for vehicles arriving at its U.S. seaports. The challenge was to improve the detection of defects on inbound vehicles, increase the efficiency and capacity of its Customer Acceptance Line (CAL), and ensure clear traceability for any damage found. To address this, JLR partnered with UVeye to integrate its automated vehicle inspection technology.

UVeye implemented a system using six scanning units across three seaports to automatically inspect every vehicle for body, underbody, and tire damage. The solution provided high-resolution imagery and data, which was uploaded in real-time to a portal for analysis. The results for JLR were significant, with UVeye's system detecting defects in over 10% of vehicles that were missed by manual inspectors. This led to fewer disputes with dealerships, lower repair costs, and improved customer satisfaction through more accurate and consistent inspections.
