Amazon boosts vehicle inspection accuracy to 96% with UVeye

Amazon partnered with UVeye to improve last-mile fleet safety and efficiency across its global Delivery Service Partner network. With more than 100,000 delivery vans on the road and 20 million packages delivered daily, Amazon needed a faster and more accurate way to replace manual DVIRs and catch subtle vehicle damage before it led to safety incidents, breakdowns, or delays.

UVeye co-developed Automated Vehicle Inspection (AVI), an AI and computer vision system that scans vehicles in seconds and sends results to Amazon’s Fleet Portal through AWS. The system identifies defects with 96% accuracy versus 24% manually, processes scan data in under a minute, and has helped improve safety for nearly 280,000 drivers, reduce maintenance costs, and minimize downtime while standardizing inspections across hundreds of delivery stations.
