Utimaco implemented its HSMs to act as a trust anchor within the border control infrastructure, authorizing reading terminals to access chip data securely. This solution enabled the efficient processing of new electronic identity documents and the introduction of a standardized nationwide validation system. As a result, Utimaco helped the ministry achieve safer travel and significantly reduce passenger waiting times at borders.
