Coca-Cola wanted to make its North America mobile app more engaging by extending the “sip and scan” feature on bottles and cans into immersive mobile experiences. Utility was brought in by AKQA to support this effort with development and design services, focused on creating an AR-based branded game.

Utility delivered the Cube Hopper augmented reality mobile game end to end, handling design, art, and engineering. Users could scan a Coke bottle to launch the game, hop across cubes in mid-air, and compete on a global leaderboard; the case study highlights a more fun, immersive Coke experience, though it does not provide specific measurable results.
