ustwo partnered with Alder Hey Children's Hospital to address the challenge of making a child's healthcare journey less daunting and more enjoyable. The hospital wanted to revolutionize patient care by providing an enhanced and personalized experience to set a new global benchmark.
The solution implemented by ustwo was the creation of the Alder Play app, a digital companion that uses gaming, a chatbot, and augmented reality to familiarize children with procedures, distract them during difficult moments, and reward them for bravery. Developed in collaboration with hospital staff and patients, this innovative solution reduced stress and anxiety for young people and their families. The project's success was recognized when it won a Graphite Pencil for Digital Design at the 2018 D&AD Awards.
