A uStudio Case Study
uStudio, a video hosting and distribution platform founded by filmmakers, partnered with the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival when the festival sought to modernize submissions for its new Science Media Awards. JHWFF wanted to move away from DVDs and thumb drives toward secure digital uploads that could be organized by category, privately judged without technical training, and align with its eco-friendly values.
Using the uStudio application and API, the team built a collaborative virtual screening workflow that lets filmmakers worldwide submit securely and inexpensively, while judges view and vote from any device. The result: faster, cheaper administration for festival staff, greater flexibility for judges, eliminated DVD logistics, and an easier, greener submission process.
