Case Study: Juntos Mozambique amplifies community voices and drives social change with Ushahidi

Leveraging the potential of citizen voices in addressing grassroot issues

Juntos Mozambique, a civil society initiative, faced a challenge when the COVID-19 lockdown prevented its teams from interacting with communities to address their needs. To bridge this gap and enable remote engagement, the organization turned to the Ushahidi Platform from the vendor Ushahidi as their solution.

Ushahidi implemented its platform to create a digital channel for citizens to voice concerns and report issues. The solution enabled the collection of data on a wide range of grassroots issues, from the pandemic's impact to child marriage and unsafe abortions. This resulted in over 5,200 subscribed contacts and the receipt of 1,600 messages, empowering the community and providing critical data to drive impactful change for Juntos Mozambique.
