Facilitating Civilian Contribution to Political Dialogue Process in Sudan

Conflict Dynamics International (CDI) sought to facilitate an inclusive political dialogue in Sudan amidst a devastating civil war and humanitarian crisis. To gather diverse civilian perspectives and inform the peace process, they partnered with the vendor Ushahidi to deploy its open-source software platform for data collection and mapping.

Using the Ushahidi platform, CDI implemented a series of surveys that successfully captured the insights of Sudanese civilians across various demographics. The results revealed critical priorities for the population, including differing concerns between genders and age groups regarding the military's role, governance, inclusivity, and justice. This deployment of Ushahidi provided measurable, evidence-based findings that directly contributed to making the political dialogue process more inclusive and representative of civilian needs.
