Attention Insight, an AI-powered tool for analyzing websites, ads, and designs with heatmaps, had a self-serve free trial but struggled to activate users. Despite an easy sign-up process, only 47% of trial users created at least one heatmap analysis and just 12% engaged with its “Areas of Interest” feature, creating a leaky trial funnel that threatened conversions.
To improve onboarding and activation, Attention Insight implemented Userpilot’s code-free in-app experiences, including interactive walkthroughs, checklists, slideouts, hotspots, contextual tooltips, and a resource center. Over six months, Userpilot helped increase heatmap analysis creation to 69% and Areas of Interest engagement to 22%, representing 47% and 83% relative increases, respectively, and strengthening the path to paid conversion.
