DoubleTree by Hilton in Victoria, BC wanted a better way to showcase one of its biggest assets: the hotel’s panoramic views of downtown, the Inner Harbour, and the Olympic Mountains. During a 2015 renovation, the team looked for an innovative, affordable way to wow guests at the front desk and preview the room views as they arrived. Userful’s video wall solution was chosen to help deliver that experience.

Userful, through partner ENS, implemented a 1x3 video wall with 55-inch displays in portrait mode, powered by a single Intel Core i5 PC and managed through a simple browser-based interface. The wall streams live 4K video from a rooftop camera and can also display tourism or other promotional content. The hotel reported that it was easy to set up with very little training, improved the lobby aesthetically, and gave guests an engaging, cost-effective digital preview of the city’s attractions and views.
