Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services - Customer Case Study

Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services, working to support allied soldiers in Afghanistan, needed a secure, reliable way to provide Internet and telephone access in an extremely harsh environment. With sand, extreme heat, strong winds, and tight security/privacy requirements, their existing Windows PC setup was difficult to maintain, costly to upgrade remotely, and vulnerable to poor user privacy. Userful Desktop™ was chosen to help address these challenges.

Userful configured ruggedized Userful Desktop™ kiosks with enhanced cooling and filtration, integrated authentication and time management controls, and expanded support coverage to Afghanistan daylight hours. The result was a more stable, easy-to-use system that improved morale by helping soldiers connect with family and friends, while reducing maintenance, energy use, and support overhead. Userful also reported substantial efficiency gains, including up to 80% less IT and administrative time, 378 PCs saved, 455,505.12 kWh of electricity saved, and 706,033 lbs of CO2 avoided.
