Tealer cuts CPA from $60 to $11 with Drop

Tealer, a Paris-based DTC streetwear brand, was facing a challenge with its Instagram ad performance. After the iOS14 update, the efficiency of its ad retargeting dropped, causing its cost per acquisition (CPA) to average $60. To recruit new customers at a lower cost, the brand partnered with Drop to implement a new strategy.

Drop's solution was a gamified Instagram Direct Message ad campaign leveraging Tealer's partnership with Pokémon. The ads prompted users to play a retro-style game via DMs, which concluded with a personalized, time-sensitive discount code. This approach resulted in 90% of the customers being new to the brand and reduced Tealer's CPA from $60 to $11, while also achieving a $6 cost per mille (CPM).
