Case Study: Colorado Department of Education modernizes its network with OneNeck

A US Signal Case Study

Preview of the Colorado Department of Education Case Study

Why the State of Colorado Department of Education partnered with OneNeck to upgrade its network

The Colorado Department of Education manages services for 178 school districts, 1,836 schools, and nearly 900,000 public school students across six Denver locations. Its aging network had started to fail, with hardware at the end of its useful life, poor performance, wireless dead spots, and limited access control. The department worked with US Signal, described in the case study as OneNeck IT Solutions, to address the connectivity problems and refresh its enterprise network.

US Signal performed a two-week assessment and then helped CDE overhaul the network to align with industry and Cisco-recommended best practices. The project included reconfiguring the campus core and data center, creating a central Cisco Prime Infrastructure, installing Cisco Identity Services Engine for security policies, and improving bandwidth and wireless management. The refresh was completed in 18 months, giving CDE a more stable network and a trusted IT advisor for ongoing support.
