Case Study: City of Bend achieves reliable, outage-free municipal IT operations and cost savings with US Signal

A US Signal Case Study

Preview of the City of Bend Case Study

Why the City of Bend turned to OneNeck to develop a secure, robust and fail-proof data center without breaking the bank

City of Bend, Oregon, a municipal government serving more than 80,000 residents, was struggling with makeshift server rooms, repeated power and cooling outages, and the prospect of spending hundreds of thousands to build a compliant data center. To avoid that capital expense and ensure high availability for critical services, the City of Bend partnered with US Signal for colocation and managed connectivity.

US Signal provided a Tier III colocation facility with fully redundant power, on-site generators, biometric security and high‑speed fiber connectivity (minimum 1 Gbps) and the city consolidated systems via virtualization after the move. As a result, the City of Bend reduced its server count by nearly half, has experienced zero IT outages since migrating, benefits from 99.9% availability and lower capital and connectivity costs, improving resilience and service delivery.
