US Signal Mitigates DDoS Attack on Financial Institution

Financial Services Company engaged US Signal for its Managed Website and Application Security Service (including application-layer DDoS protection) after a wave of attacks on the financial sector. Just days into the new contract the customer suffered a multi-vector DDoS—peaking at 500 malicious requests per second from over 10,000 IPs across Russia, Ukraine, Iran, Vietnam and the U.S.—forcing an emergency cutover.

US Signal executed an emergency cutover to Cloudflare’s Anycast network in under three hours and mitigation took full effect within 15 minutes, allowing normal services to resume; 99% of malicious attempts were challenged or blocked by browser checks/Google captchas.
