S&S Tire Gains Scalability with US Signal’s IT Solutions

S&S Tire, a Lexington, KY–based tire distributor operating across 18 states with retail, commercial and distribution centers, was struggling with aging IT systems, limited internal IT staff, unreliable MPLS/latency issues, and a need for geographically diverse disaster recovery after its previous cloud provider exited the market. S&S engaged US Signal for a suite of services including public cloud hosting, dedicated Internet, MPLS, managed security, professional services and Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service (DRaaS).

US Signal deployed a public cloud environment with a private Internet connection, rolled out MPLS to connect 30 remote sites (with colocation in Grand Rapids), provided managed security, and delivered DRaaS with daily replication and a documented DR playbook; its Professional Services team handled migration and audits. The outcome was higher performance and uptime, reallocation of IT staff to strategic projects, robust geographic disaster recovery, and approximately $75,000 in savings over five years from the MPLS deployment, along with faster support and greater operational flexibility.
