Pine Rest Hosts Its Epic Environment With Us Signal

Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services, a multi-site behavioral health organization serving Iowa and Michigan, needed to upgrade and host an enterprise-wide EHR under tight deadlines while preserving uptime, security and access for telehealth in rural areas. To meet these requirements they engaged US Signal, using services including a HIPAA-compliant Hosted Private Cloud for the EHR, Enterprise Cloud for other mission‑critical apps, Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service (DRaaS), managed security, network services and professional services.

US Signal delivered a hybrid, customized solution—tailoring its Hosted Private Cloud to the EHR vendor’s design, deploying Enterprise Cloud for other applications, and providing DRaaS, managed security, network and project management support—led by a dedicated US Signal project manager. Early testing shows the DR component meets Pine Rest’s under-15-minute RTO target, protecting patient data, minimizing downtime risk and enabling telehealth expansion, while freeing internal IT resources and shifting costs from capital to operating expenditures.
