How the City of Minneapolis saves more than $3 million annually with OneNeck’s managed IT services

The City of Minneapolis faced an aging, complex municipal IT environment supporting 4,700 users across 70 locations and needed a new managed services partner to replace a long-term provider and modernize servers, storage, network, security, databases and data protection. After an RFP process the City of Minneapolis selected US Signal to deliver managed services, colocation and cloud infrastructure solutions to meet a strict 10‑month implementation timeline.

US Signal implemented a hybrid IT solution that combined multi‑site colocation, cloud IaaS and comprehensive managed services for networking, servers and applications, including upgrades and migration of the City’s PeopleSoft environment. The vendor migrated more than 250 servers and 180 TB of data, supported 70 locations and ~3,500 active users in the initial phases, completed Phase 1 on time and on budget, and helped the City realize ongoing operational flexibility and projected annual savings of more than $3 million.
