City of Grand Rapids’ Mobile & Parking department was running a cobbled-together IT environment supporting parking payments, mobile parking and traffic systems, with minimal disaster recovery, fragmented vendors, and limited ability to adopt new technologies. To modernize infrastructure, reduce on‑premises CapEx and improve resiliency, the City of Grand Rapids engaged US Signal to deliver Enterprise Cloud (Dedicated Resource Pools) along with Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service, Enterprise Backup-as-a-Service, Remote Monitoring and Management, and professional cloud migration services.

US Signal implemented a secure multi-tenant cloud with dedicated resource pools and a hybrid approach to keep some legacy servers on‑site while protecting them with DRaaS and EBaaS, plus ongoing Remote Monitoring and Management; the environment is managed by the customer via vCloud Director. The US Signal solution delivered scalable, flexible, cost‑effective IT resources, increased resiliency and server health monitoring, reduced CapEx and labor, and freed up internal resources for other priorities.
