UK Mail, one of the UK’s largest express delivery companies, needed to meet growing demand from public and private sector customers for stronger assurance around information security. To do this, it partnered with URM, using its ISO 27001 implementation expertise and risk assessment tool Abriska™ to help shape the certification approach across a large, geographically dispersed business.

URM helped UK Mail assess risk across all sites, define a practical ISO 27001:2013 scope for the whole UK business excluding UK Pallets, and build out the ISMS framework, awareness program, governance, and controls. The company achieved certification in July 2014, gained a stronger foundation for new products like imail, improved customer confidence, and embedded information security more deeply into day-to-day operations, with the project delivered faster than expected and supporting better supplier management and internal process improvement.
