Case Study: London Fire Brigade improves business continuity management with URM's Abriska

A URM Case Study

Preview of the London Fire Brigade Case Study

London Fire Brigade - Customer Case Study

London Fire Brigade, the UK’s largest fire and rescue service, needed a better way to run its business impact analyses and risk reviews under ISO 22301. Its manual process relied on workshops, Word documents, and Excel spreadsheets, which was labour-intensive, inconsistent across many activities, and difficult to report on. To address this, the brigade selected URM’s Abriska BIA and risk assessment tool.

URM implemented Abriska in a phased rollout, helped migrate unstructured data into a relational database, and provided on-site support and knowledge transfer so LFB could build confidence in the methodology. The new system improved consistency, reduced staff time spent on BIA administration, enabled faster updates and challenge of data, strengthened resilience by reducing dependence on key individuals, and supported management information and “what if” analysis. LFB also benefited from URM’s hosted ISO 27001-compliant environment and quarterly software improvements, including enhancements driven by LFB feedback.
