Licence Check Limited, a Nottingham-based provider of online driving licence checking and monitoring services, needed to strengthen information security to support its DVLA relationship, protect large volumes of personal and client employee data, and win new public sector and blue-chip contracts. To do this, it sought support from URM and attended a seminar on how to achieve ISO 27001 certification, followed by an ISO 27001 Health Check to assess gaps against the Standard.

URM then provided consultancy support including a risk assessment using Abriska, policy and procedure development, ISMS framework setup, awareness training, and coordination with the certification body. As a result, Licence Check achieved ISO 27001 certification in just four months, with a scalable, more formalised information security management system, stronger risk visibility, and improved staff buy-in. The company said URM’s pragmatic guidance helped make the process efficient, manageable, and aligned to its business goals.
