Bevan Brittan, the UK’s largest specialist provider of public services legal advice, wanted to strengthen information security, support tendering, and reassure clients that its processes were externally validated. The firm needed help conducting a detailed information security risk assessment and building an ISO 27001-compliant information security management system without adding unnecessary bureaucracy, so it worked with URM and used URM’s Abriska risk assessment software.

URM helped Bevan Brittan complete the risk assessment, create the required ISO 27001 documentation, and embed a lighter-touch ISMS that fit the firm’s culture across all three offices. As a result, Bevan Brittan secured ISO 27001 certification in November 2013, improved security controls and working practices, streamlined questionnaires and tenders, and gained ongoing client reassurance through continuous assessment and improvement.
