STEEN Sustainable Energy leaves no stone unturned for its clients thanks to Urbio

STEEN Sustainable Energy, a Swiss specialist in renewable energy concepts and low-temperature networks, was asked by a municipality to deliver a comprehensive energy plan for the European Energy Award label (Cité de l’Energie). The main challenge was to decarbonize the historic center without renovating protected heritage buildings, while exploring a complete range of possible solutions. STEEN Sustainable Energy used Urbio’s municipal energy planning platform to support the study.

With Urbio, STEEN Sustainable Energy rapidly generated and compared dozens of scenarios, combining technical and financial criteria such as subsidies, investments, and supplied energy. The team selected three final scenarios and presented municipal-scale KPIs, targets, and geolocated building measures through dynamic maps, which they could insert directly into reports. Urbio helped make the process more efficient, improved customer satisfaction, and led to further discussions on detailed follow-up studies for the commune.
