The City of San Jose Department of Transportation faced siloed, messy mobility and incident data spread across departments and formats, relying on manual Excel-based workflows that left 80% of consultant-collected traffic data unanalyzable and cost the City over $300,000 per year. To address data archiving, validation, and accessibility challenges, the City selected UrbanLogiq’s unified cloud-based data platform to centralize and streamline these disparate datasets.
UrbanLogiq ingested, cleaned, geocoded and integrated 10 years of crash data and five years of traffic counts from thousands of files into a single cloud platform, delivering a custom crash dashboard, machine-learning crash prediction model, and enterprise-wide access. The deployment saved staff time, improved data quality and cross-department collaboration, processed 11,000 streets, found that 39% of fatal crashes occurred on just 37 streets, and produced analytics published to the City’s Open Data Portal — all enabled by UrbanLogiq.
