Case Study: City of Surrey achieves a unified, real-time view of mobility with UrbanLogiq

A UrbanLogiq Case Study

Preview of the City of Surrey Case Study

Achieving a Unified View of Mobility for the City of Surrey, B.C.

City of Surrey, a fast‑growing municipality facing significant commuter congestion, had roughly 2,700 induction loop sensors across 300 intersections producing 15‑minute traffic data that staff couldn’t easily access or use. To avoid ongoing expensive manual traffic counts and improve planning and transparency, the City engaged UrbanLogiq and its Traffic Intelligence Platform to make that sensor data usable for operational and strategic decision‑making.

UrbanLogiq cleaned and aggregated the City of Surrey’s sensor feeds via API, layered more than 10 years of historical manual counts, and automated the calculation of Average Daily Traffic (ADT), Peak Hour Factor (PHF), sensor maps and tailored reports. The result is a single, shareable platform that cut report generation from days or weeks to minutes, delivered real‑time ADT/PHF insights, reduced costly manual counting programs, and produced measurable tax‑dollar savings for the city.
