YouChoose Bay Area - Customer Case Study

YouChoose Bay Area, a strategic initiative led by Silicon Valley Community Foundation, needed a way to help residents and community leaders understand how land use and transportation decisions would shape the San Francisco Bay Area’s future. Working with UrbanFootprint, they aimed to illustrate the community, climate, environmental, fiscal, and social impacts of different growth choices.

UrbanFootprint provided iterative scenario planning to model regional land use and transportation options, including changes in jobs-housing mix, development patterns, and transportation investments. The results were shared through a dynamic website and regional workshops, supporting public education and community outreach, and helping inform the Bay Area’s Sustainable Communities Strategy under Senate Bill 375 to advance carbon-emissions reduction efforts.
