Unlocking new value for maintenance programs by ensuring asset reliability at the minimum cost

Ameren, one of the largest U.S. nuclear plant operators, needed a better way to cost-optimize maintenance at its nuclear facility without compromising safety, reliability, or compliance. To address this challenge, Ameren worked with Uptake and used the Compass application to evaluate maintenance strategies based on asset condition, risk, and cost.

Uptake’s Compass solution helped Ameren identify where maintenance costs could be reduced while preserving asset reliability, unlocking $662,601 in annualized value. The program also freed up 5,650 annualized worker hours and delivered savings across low-voltage motors, horizontal and vertical medium-voltage motors, and vertical pumps through reduced labor, hardware, and indirect costs.
