United Road, a leader in vehicle and heavy-haul transportation services, faced major maintenance and staffing challenges as driver and technician shortages made it harder to keep trucks available, avoid delays, and meet customer commitments. To improve uptime and support its fleet operations, United Road turned to Uptake and its fleet analytics solution, Uptake Radar.

Uptake ingested telematics and historical work order data through Uptake Radar to detect impending failures such as DPF, NOx sensor, EGR valve, and coolant issues before breakdowns occurred. In a two-month pilot, Uptake identified problems on 29 trucks, including five roadside breakdowns and 24 in-shop repairs, delivering about $400 in savings per acted-upon insight and an estimated $3,387 in annual value per vehicle.
