Leading Wind Energy Company Set to Capture $1.35M per Year in Savings

Leading Wind Energy Company, one of Asia’s largest independent power producers in renewable energy, wanted to add smarter capabilities to its control center to improve productivity and reliability across a diverse fleet of wind turbines. The company needed better use of weather and SCADA data in a single tool to identify underperforming turbines and support maintenance planning with third-party providers, and it partnered with Uptake to trial Uptake Radar for Wind Turbines.

Uptake worked with the customer to align data sets with its productivity models and deploy Uptake Radar at one wind farm in India. The solution helped detect underperformance, reduce unnecessary curtailment, and spot issues like wind vane malfunction, giving the company earlier notice to schedule preventive maintenance. Uptake estimated a 1% AEP gain worth about $4,300 per turbine per year, with the trial across 27 turbines pointing to potential annual savings of $1.35M across the full 625MW fleet.
