Capital Power improves asset performance through data analytics

Capital Power, a North American power producer with roughly 500 wind turbines, needed a way to manage the explosive growth of operational data from its fleet without running into storage limits or high overhead costs. The company also needed historical data to remain accessible for data-driven decisions and to integrate smoothly with Microsoft Power BI and its existing operations and analytics tools. Uptake addressed this challenge with its Fusion platform and Industrial Cloud Data Platform on Microsoft Azure.

Using Uptake Fusion, along with Connectors, Elevate, and Lenses, Capital Power centralized wind turbine data in the cloud for easier storage, access, and analysis. The solution improved data quality, management, scalability, and integration with Azure Time Series Insights and Power BI, while helping reduce total cost of ownership and support future growth. As a result, Uptake became a foundational part of Capital Power’s remote monitoring and operations management, enabling better reporting, faster access to data, and new analytics use cases such as predicting downtime and maximizing wind facility output.
