Brigham and Women’s Hospital launches COVID Protocols in under a month with Upstatement

The customer, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, faced the challenge of disseminating rapidly evolving COVID-19 treatment protocols to doctors in real-time. Their initial solution, a collaborative Google Doc, became overwhelmed with traffic and was too slow and cumbersome for medical professionals to use effectively during a crisis. The vendor Upstatement was engaged to create a new digital solution.

Upstatement developed a lightning-fast, searchable website and companion iOS and Android apps, all built to integrate seamlessly with the doctors' existing Google Docs workflow. This solution provided reliable access even behind stringent hospital VPNs and allowed for offline use. The project was launched in under a month, providing a critical tool for frontline healthcare workers and earning an honorable mention from Fast Company for World Changing Ideas.
